JEWELLERY CARE
CARE GUIDE
SAL pieces are designed to accompany you over time. With proper care, your pieces will preserve their brilliance, structure, and finish for generations.
GENERAL CARE
Avoid contact with water, chlorine, bleach, vinegar, perfume, hairspray, lotions, and other corrosive substances.
We recommend putting your pieces on last, after skincare, makeup, and fragrance application.
Remove your pieces before washing hands, applying sanitizer or lotion, swimming, exercising, or sleeping.
Store each piece separately in its SAL pouch or box to avoid scratches and preserve the finish.
Keep your pieces in a cool, dry place, away from excessive humidity and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
To clean your piece, gently use a soft, lint-free cloth. For a deeper clean, use warm water with mild soap and dry carefully.
NATURAL GEMSTONES
SAL embraces the individuality of natural gemstones. Variations in tone, inclusions, texture, and shape are part of the stone’s natural character and should not be considered imperfections.
Emerald
Emerald is one of the most precious gemstones from the beryl mineral family. Its vivid green color comes from the presence of chromium, and sometimes vanadium, within its composition.
Emeralds naturally contain inclusions and fissures, often described as “gardens” due to their moss-like appearance. These internal characteristics make every stone unique, while also making emeralds more delicate and susceptible to breakage.
To preserve your emerald piece:
Store your piece separately in a soft pouch to avoid impact with other objects.
Remove your emerald piece before washing your hands or applying hand sanitizer.
Avoid exposure to high temperatures and prolonged direct sunlight.
If exposed to chemicals or excessive sunlight, applying a small amount of mineral oil may help restore the stone’s natural shine.
Tourmaline
Tourmalines are appreciated for their richness of color and natural luminosity. Although durable, they should be handled with care to preserve their surface and brilliance.
Avoid impact against hard surfaces.
Store separately to prevent scratches from harder gemstones.
Avoid prolonged exposure to heat and chemicals.
Ruby
Rubies are highly resistant gemstones, valued for their intense red color and durability. Despite their hardness, proper care is essential to maintain their polish and vibrancy.
Protect your ruby piece from harsh chemicals and sudden impacts.
Clean gently with warm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth.
Store separately from other jewellery pieces to preserve its surface.
Diamonds
Diamonds are among the hardest natural materials, yet they can still accumulate residue and lose brilliance over time.
Avoid direct contact with creams, oils, and cleaning products.
Clean regularly using warm water, mild soap, and a soft brush or cloth.
Store your diamond pieces individually to avoid scratching other gemstones or metals.
SCULPTURAL CHAINS
Some SAL necklaces feature fluid and sculptural chains designed to move naturally with the body.
To preserve their structure over time:
Store chains separately and laid flat whenever possible.
Avoid excessive twisting, pressure, or folding.
Handle detachable pendants and modular elements with care when styling.
